But of course it won’t.
Chance comes in flux. We are presented with the powers of luck, fortune, and destiny. At our best moments, the universe seems primed to aid us.
At our worst – we feel as though unnatural forces are conspiring in our hard time.
Let me specify – I was nearly offered a trip to NY, the chance to interview two high-profile celebrities, and (as luck, or fortune would have it) it conflicts with an event I have been practicing for all year. This is a challenge, and a bit of a bullshit one. Not in the sense that anyone has done anything wrong or that I’m unduly upset – but how disappointing.
This is the strange moment where you begin to feel entitled. Where you take the could have been idea and project it onto the reality of your world. This is a crisis, a trap, a gambit.
There will be moments in your life where you can’t have it all. To quote Clarence from Is Anybody There? – “Things change, buster, and not always for the better.” These moments are not ideal, but they are human. And you can either scuttle both dreams, or make one work for you.
Do not get trapped by your fantasies. It’s deadly dangerous.
